New Genomics CREATE Awards

Four new Genomics Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) awards, each offering $1.65 million in funding, will be awarded as a part of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council’s (NSERC) 2026 CREATE competition. These CREATE initiatives will bring together groups of accomplished researchers to offer valuable training programs to highly qualified students and postdoctoral fellows from Canada and abroad.

Genomics is the study of the entire genetic information of an organism encoded in DNA and other molecules, which includes the structure, function, evolution, mapping, and editing of genomes. The Genomics CREATE Awards will support collaborative research that aligns with the priorities of the Canadian Genomics Strategy (CGS). The CGS will advance the adoption of genomics and related technologies, strengthen Canada's global leadership, and position Canada for long‑term success in the global bioeconomy.
