Research in basic sciences fosters innovation and scientific breakthroughs needed for the long-term growth and well-being of Canadians and the world. As Canada's largest supporter of discovery and innovation, NSERC supports and promotes research in basic sciences through various mechanisms, including, Discovery grants, scholarships and fellowships, science and engineering promotion, and research partnerships.
To formalize NSERC's commitment to celebrating IYBSSD 2022, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by Professor Alejandro Adem, President of NSERC, and Michel Spiro, President of the
