University Partnerships
Dr. Mike Dixon, Director of the Controlled Environment Systems Research Facility at the University of Guelph, together with Professor Youbin Zheng and Associate Professor Thomas Graham, is pioneering the future of sustainable agriculture through advanced vertical farming technologies.
In collaboration with Intravision Group and its Canadian subsidiary, the team has developed some of the world’s most sophisticated tools for plant science research. Central to this innovation are the Photosystem Chambers™—custom-engineered growth environments that simulate precise conditions to study plant–environment interactions and optimise crop yields. These chambers, along with the fully automated GravityFlow™ vertical farming system, enable scalable production of food and medicinal crops in controlled environments, independent of climate or geography.
This partnership has also trained a new generation of experts in controlled environment agriculture, blending academic insight with industrial application.
Looking ahead, the team’s research will go a long way to help secure global food supplies by enabling efficient, high-yield farming in urban centres and remote regions alike.
